Florida Statute 768.0706(2)(c) requires the owner or principal operator of a multifamily residential property to provide proper crime deterrence and safety training to current employees and, after January 1, 2025, to new employees within 60 days of hire.
This training should help staff become familiar with the security principles, devices, measures, and standards referenced under the statute. For many property owners and managers, this requirement is one part of a broader effort to improve property safety, reduce crime exposure, and support compliance with Florida Statute 768.0706 (HB 837).

Tricorn provides free crime deterrence and safety training for properties where we have completed a CPTED assessment. This training is intended to help property staff understand basic crime deterrence practices, CPTED-related concepts, and the security measures that support safer property operations.
While the training is general in nature, it helps staff build a stronger understanding of the safety and security standards that apply to multifamily residential properties under Florida law.
After finishing the course, participants receive a free certificate documenting completion of the training for Florida Statute 768.0706(2)(c).
To learn more about CPTED assessments, review our Florida Statute 768.0706 compliance services, or contact us to discuss your property.
Employee training is an important part of Florida Statute 768.0706 compliance for multifamily residential properties. When paired with a CPTED assessment, it helps property staff better understand the security measures and crime deterrence practices that support safer property operations.
We also provide security lighting assessments, property security vulnerability assessments for multifamily and commercial properties. We work with property owners, management companies, and real estate stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities, improve property safety, and support practical crime prevention measures.
